20 to 21 October 2014
Copenhagen, Denmark
Promoting the transition towards a green economy, 3GF has become a leading platform for governments, leading business and finance, civil society and international organisations to incubate, accelerate and bring to scale concrete green growth solutions. Initiated by Denmark, Korea and Mexico in 2011, 3GF has been joined by China, Kenya, Qatar and Ethiopia since and is hosted by the Prime Minister of Denmark.
This year’s summit themes “Changing Production and Consumption Patterns through Transformative Action” and will launch or leverage 11 strategic partnerships that address the challenges of ensuring sustainable consumption and production for generations to come.
During this year’s summit, the CSCP will pre-launch a new partnership - “Business and Social Innovation for Sustainable Lifestyles”, which invites participants to collaboratively shape ideas for partnership actions that enable sustainable lifestyles. It aims to present a vision on what is needed to develop the framework conditions for governments and business to foster new business and social innovation to mainstream sustainable lifestyles. A further goal is to collaboratively define a set of “must have” activities for a multi-stakeholder 3GF partnership on business and social innovation for sustainable lifestyles and to define the roadmap ahead.
Towards this end, the CSCP inspires participants on 4 pathways for transformative action: Framing the identification of lifestyle sustainability impact areas and collaboratively identifying innovation priorities; exploring and conceptualizing the added value of products and services for mainstreaming the means for sustainable living; scaling up business models supporting sustainable lifestyles by mapping and testing feasible and high impact options, and integrating lifestyle transition concepts in sustainable city development to inspire innovation in city planning and governance.
Before the pre-launch meeting, the CSCP also moderates the plenary session “Walking in the Shoes of Future Middle Class Consumers”, engaging multiple stakeholders to envision sustainable lifestyles in 2025 with experiential approach, thus inspiring participants to identify opportunities for actions towards enabling sustainable lifestyles in the future.
