Sharing City and Urban Lifestyle presentations by CSCP at ICLEI World Congress in Seoul in April

“The road to global sustainability runs through the world’s cities and towns“ stated United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon at a previous ICLEI event.

The World Congress of ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability takes places every three years and enables ICLEI members and partners from all over the world to equip themselves firsthand with the practical know-how of top performing cities. The ICLEI World Congress 2015 in Seoul, South Korea, on 8 to 12 April 2015 will gather the most innovative practices and pioneering solutions to demonstrate that a transition to a globally sustainable future is possible.

CSCP has been invited to present on two themes. During the session “Sharing City: From Ownership to Access” CSCP Project Manager Susanne Salz will introduce the issue of the Sharing Economy and its benefits for cities, as well as discussing with the participants what Local Governments can do to enable the Sharing City. Seoul Metropolitan Government is a globally recognized pioneer in this area and will be presenting its initiatives and successes.

In the session “CityScene projects – mise-en-scène of future urban life” CSCP’s Susanne Salz will present the idea of Green Living! Sustainable Urban Lifestyle Month to transform one urban neighbourhood into a real-live showcase of sustainable urban lifestyles of the future involving mobility, consumption, housing, mindsets and much more. Green Living! builds on the idea of ICLEI’s EcoMobility World Festival during which one urban neighbourhood becomes completely car-free for one month.
