Garrelt Duin, Minister for Economic Affairs, congratulated the winning syndicates. Mr Duin emphasized: “NRW’s economy has a great interest to take on the issue of responsible business management. “He offered the government’s intensive support in order to address the CSR issues of small and medium enterprises".
The CSCP and BAND will now take on the task to build up strong regional networks and incentivise as well as support entrepreneurs and their financial partners to build up CSR knowledge and develop packages of practical measures. Thereby the competence centre, that will be located at the CSCP premises in Wuppertal, will be investing in a culture of responsible business management in NRW that is fostered by the CSCP’s strong experience in collaboration with companies of all sizes.
The work of the “CSR-Competence Centre for Start-ups” will concentrate on prominent CSR issues such as human resources and recruiting, environmental degradation and climate change as well as transparent supply chains and CSR communication. Its work also aims at bringing together Start-ups and investors that recognize the importance of CSR and want to combine forces to create lasting and meaningful jobs in NRW. CSCP and BAND are now eligible to apply for funding at the EU’s Regional Development Fond that will amount to around 400.000 €.
