Deutsche Telekom and CSCP are embarking on a ‘Sustainable Entrepre-neurship Journey’ in Cape Town, South Africa on April 12-15, 2011
Inspiration, Education and Capacity Development to Enable Sustainable Entrepreneurship in the ICT Sector
SMART Start-up – Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is the outgrowth of the CSCP experience in supporting education on Sustainable Entrepreneurship. After the 2008 program “Introducing Sustainable Lifestyles and Sustainable Entrepreneurship into African universities and colleges”, the CSCP has been developing tools and providing trainings to sensitize the academic community and the youth in Sustainable Entrepreneurship and to develop the capacity of entrepreneurs.
SMART Start-up – ICT is the fruit of the collaboration between the CSCP and Deutsche Telekom. It stemmed from the need of improving the quality of entrepreneurship and ensuring sustainable practices in the ICT industry by inspiring the larger society.
The project focuses on stimulating sustainable entrepreneurship and developing skills of the younger generations in Brazil, China and South Africa. Working with universities and colleges in these emerging markets, this project is presenting the concept of sustainability as an opportunity for potential entrepreneurs to develop sustainable business ideas and will provide a platform for collaboration between multi national companies, micro entrepreneurs, and supportive civil society organisations.
Workshop in Cape Town, South Africa
The project will set its first perk during the four-day workshop that will take place in Cape Town, South Africa on April 12-15, 2011. The organization of the upcoming SMART Start-up – ICT training is supported by South African National Cleaner Production Center with Deutsche Telekom as the sponsor.
